Rails application templates & Primo
updated 4 months ago; latest suggestion 3 months ago
Rails application templates are awesome, especially for hackers that often need to set up the same basic app, but also for companies that want to promote their best pratices. Sadly the ecosystem around them seems to be quite limited. Primo tries to solve this by adding a command line interface for defining your default template and share it with others.
During this talk I will walk though the basics of Rails application templates, the power of using and improving on them with others, and introduce Primo to manage and use templates from various companies.
Do you have any thoughts about how long your talk might be? I can see an interesting short talk here -- which is totally fine and could certainly form part of the schedule -- but if you think there are some deeper points to be made that you want to explore in a more relaxed way, I think it would help this proposal to outline them.
For example - why do you think the ecosystem is limited? Is it because not many people are using templates?
